Some of the most meaningful partnerships begin with a simple act of kindness.
This week, I had the privilege of visiting The NATIVE Project to deliver a new pair of shoes for one of the incredible children they serve. What began as a quick drop-off turned into an inspiring conversation with Alicia that left me encouraged about what is possible when organizations unite around a common purpose.
Standing outside The NATIVE Project together, shoes in hand, served as a reminder that every pair we provide represents far more than footwear—it represents hope, dignity, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
The NATIVE Project has been serving the Spokane community for more than three decades by providing comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, prevention, wellness, and youth services. While its roots are grounded in serving Native American communities, its doors are open to everyone, offering compassionate, whole-person care that strengthens families throughout our region.
As Alicia shared more about the organization's mission, one thing became abundantly clear: our organizations are driven by many of the same values.
At Soleful Steps, we believe that something as simple as a properly fitting pair of shoes can remove barriers, restore confidence, and help someone move forward with dignity. The NATIVE Project shares that same commitment by ensuring individuals and families have access to the care, resources, and support they need to live healthier lives.
Together, those missions complement one another beautifully.
When healthcare providers, youth advocates, schools, and nonprofits work together, we create something much greater than any one organization could accomplish alone. Partnerships like this ensure that children and families receive not only exceptional care, but also the practical resources that help them succeed every day.
I want to sincerely thank Alicia for taking the time to share more about The NATIVE Project and the incredible work their team does throughout Spokane. It was an honor to learn more about their mission, and I'm excited about the opportunities ahead as Soleful Steps works alongside them to serve our community.
Every conversation builds trust.
Every partnership expands our reach.
And every pair of shoes is another step toward a stronger, healthier Spokane.
Together, we're proving that when organizations invest in one another, our entire community moves forward.
